The 5thT Innovation Group hosted their 2nd Entrepreneur Showcase November 2018. The event showcased six different entrepreneurs that are local to the Grand Strand and have worked with either the Conway Innovation Center or Georgetown Innovation Center. The event was one that community members did not want to miss, with around 200 people in attendance the audience got to see presentations on topics about Splyse a Blockchain consulting company to a building game called Block and everything between. This event followed a “Shark Tank” style where the presenter would pitch their business and then a panel of four outstanding community members would ask questions they had about the business presented. At the end of the event, the audience got the chance to vote using their mobile devices on which presentation they thought was the most engaging out of all 6 presenters. After results were in the winner was announced, TuckTec Folding Kayaks.
Dan Norton, CEO of TuckTec, came to the Georgetown Innovation Center to figure out how he could continue to grow and improve his business. He then continued to utilize both the Georgetown Innovation Center and the Conway Innovation Center when he needed consultation during the process of growing his business. These consultations with both centers helped the company and Norton began seeing even greater traction with his folding kayak business. The Entrepreneur Showcase was another way for Dan Norton to create awareness about this innovative product that is offered on the Grand Strand and the audience was captivated by his business pitch that he was announced the most engaging presentation of the night.
Businesses that presented at the Entrepreneur Showcase include; TradeKit by RdytoGo, Smarter/Starter Homes, SIMPLAR, TuckTec, Splyse, and Block the Building Game. For a recap of the event click here.
